Sensors and Smart Systems
摘要
SustainabilitySustainability concerns have been increasing as the need to take drastic measures to reduce the environmentalEnvironmental footprint of people, but mainly of businesses arises. Smart SystemsSmart systems and SensorsSensors contribute to the concept of smart citiesSmart cities, mainly regarding resource management (raw materials, human resources, energy, water, waste, etc.). Smart systemsSmart systems are systems capable of acting autonomously without the need for human intervention, simulating human intelligence. There are different levels of intelligence, and the label “smart systemsSmart systems” is widely used for different solutions, implementing different types of intelligence. The need to support enterprises to be more sustainable, at environmentalEnvironmental, economic, and social levels led to the necessity to adapt how businesses operate and consequently, the tools used. Smart systemsSmart systems, promoted by the Industry 4.0Industry 4.0 concept, combine different informationInformation and communication technologies to support the implementation of intelligent solutions capable of answering the specific needs of each enterprise, namely helping them be more efficient and sustainable in the management of their resources. Using smart systemsSmart systems to monitor and manage resources allows the implementation of responsive factories, optimizing resource usage, increasing production capacity, reducing production costs, reducing waste and resource consumption, and allowing enterprises to become more sustainable.
