WaterSmart water management solutions, a finite resource critical for life and industry, faces increasing threats due to climate change. With industries currently consuming 22% of the Earth’s water supply, there is a pressing need for intelligent water management solutions. This study conducts a comprehensive review of 40 platforms to identify essential functionalities of an adequate water management solution based on the concerns of textile companies. It aims to provide insights into InformationInformation Technologies solutions optimising water management practices. The research includes two benchmarking analyses, insights from six focus groups, and a SWOT analysis of a prototype platform developed that integrates critical features identified, highlighting its potential to address industry needs effectively and contribute to EnvironmentalEnvironmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria and with crucial data Digital Product Passport (DPPDigital Product Passport (DPP)).
