Rationale and Techniques for Liver Hypertrophy in Colorectal Liver Metastases
摘要
The nature of colorectal liver metastases implicates that the use of hypertrophy methods and the applicability of multiple local treatment modalities are more versatile than in any other hepatobiliary surgical setting. That is also why this is where the techniques of modulating the future liver remnant have been studied the most. For example, surgical strategies such as two-stage hepatectomy have emanated from this field. In this chapter the concepts of modulating the future liver remnant will be discussed, with the patients suffering from colorectal liver metastases in need of these techniques in focus.
