Presenting a Dataset for 3D Breast Surface Representation Using Thermography
摘要
This work presents a dataset acquired with the objective of verifying the possibilities of using thermography for the reconstruction of the external geometry of the breast. Here, we primarily describe data composition, as we believe it can be used in various ways to enable specific verifications of results for synthetic shape reconstructions, allowing a more objective comparison. Additionally, the use of thermographic images as a basis for generating the three-dimensional shape of the examined person may make a 3D presentation of thermography feasible, which we consider to be an area not yet explored in research and that could enhance the understanding and interpretation of this examination. Applications of this would be for reproducing breasts in 3D printer models, which we exemplify here, or in planning of reconstructive plastic surgeries of this organ (resulting from needs related to breast cancer treatment or aesthetic purposes).
