Women surgeons have exceptional persistence, creativity, and optimism. We feel that surgical innovation is a great way to further utilize these well-developed skills. More importantly, our patients and colleagues need better representation of women in this space. Here, we aim to describe the past, present, and future of women in surgical innovation.
