The evolution of surgical technology is now playing a role in every surgical specialty. Mentors are an integral part of the growth and development of a successful surgeon and are therefore invaluable in helping to maximize our abilities. It’s also important to be open to new techniques and technological advancements to continue that growth and to be able to offer the best possible care to our patients. This chapter will describe my journey as a surgeon and how robotic surgery has allowed me to evolve as a surgeon and, with the help of many mentors, become a leader in the field.
