Technological Innovations in Education: Virtual Reality’s Role in Qatar’s Educational and Economic Landscape
摘要
The past few years have seen great interest in the transformative power of Virtual Reality (VR) across different fields, including education. VR makes learning arrangements dynamic and intuitive, helping learners feel connected to the process with which they are acquiring knowledge. In this context, giant strides are being made in the Middle East, with Qatar leading VR integration due to its myriad of innovation-driven startups, VR centers, and government policies that embrace virtual reality. This paper examines the integration of VR into Qatar’s education system, taking a close look at its successes and challenges, from faculty resistance and cultural considerations to the high costs of investment. Moreover, the paper depicts the channels through which VR stimulates professional training and economic diversification, as well as provides a conceptual model for sustainable adoption and long-term growth as well as presenting the successful implementation of this technology as example for the region focusing on the Arab countries.
