In this chapter, we present some mechanics applications of the material covered in the preceding chapter. Some of the problems presented here have been addressed in Vol. I, by using elementary methods (working exclusively in the real field), more often than not, simply by verifying that a given expression satisfies the differential equation along with its initial conditions. Here, the solution is obtained by using the general complex–field methodology of the preceding chapter.
