Color Image Watermarking for UAVs: Ensuring Security and Integrity with DTCWT-MSVD

UAVs(Unmanned aerial vehicles) play an important role in many applications ranging from military, agriculture to disaster management and environmental monitoring. With the increased use of UAV, there have been serious concerns regarding data security, integrity and authenticity. Traditional method such as cryptography, OTP are insufficient to address threats which occurs security and authentication issues. To resolve these issues, a reversible watermarking technique is proposed in this paper to maintain robustness and improve the imperceptibility and security of UAV-captured images. The method embeds watermark into UAV images, achieving high resistance to attacks such as median filter, gaussian noise, etc. Additionally, a hybrid encryption mechanism based on hyperchaotic systems and Fibonacci Q-matrix diffusion enhances security, preventing cryptographic vulnerabilities. The technique is completely reversible, allowing full extraction of watermarked UAV images without loss of quality. Experimental analysis proves that the proposed work gives better results in most of the cases in terms of invisibility, security and resilience as compared to the existing work. This research will contribute to the advancement of watermarking-assisted UAV security, offering a scalable and practical solution for safeguarding aerial data in high-risk scenarios.
