Commercial Enterprises have long known that they are under threat from malicious outside and inside operators. Significant work has gone into devising systems that detect and deter violations from both. Only recently, however, has the focus shifted to psychological factors that motivate actors to risky activity. 2024 surveys, nevertheless, show little evidence that this understanding has penetrated general consciousness. The aim of this paper is to identify current Insider Threat Detection (ITD) methods and motivational factors. We found that detection is becoming increasingly more varied and sophisticated but that there appears to be little interest in identifying human motivation to commit malicious acts that threaten the organisation to which they are attached.

摘要
