Evaluation of User Expesrience for Dashboard Project Management Information System Within the Project Operation Unit of a Telecommunication Company
摘要
EMPIRE (Enterprise Monitoring and Project Reporting) application, used in the Project Operation Unit (PO) of a leading telecommunications company, plays a crucial role in project management. However, users have reported significant issues with its User Interface (UI) and User Experience (UX), particularly citing problems with visual appeal and innovation, which hampers their overall satisfaction and efficiency. To address these concerns, a research study was initiated to evaluate and improve the EMPIRE dashboard using the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) methodology. Active EMPIRE users within the PO Unit participated in the study, providing valuable data on key UX aspects, including Attractiveness (3.0), Efficiency (4.14), Perspicuity (5.55), Dependability (5.59), Stimulation (4.5), and Novelty (0.68). The evaluation results indicated high user satisfaction in the Perspicuity and Dependability dimensions, while Attractiveness and Novelty received lower scores. Users found the information presented to be clear and the system reliable, reflected in the high scores for Perspicuity and Dependability. However, there is a clear need for improvement in the visual appeal and innovative aspects of the interface. In response to these findings, this research proposes the development of a new UI/UX prototype to address the identified issues and enhance the overall user experience with EMPIRE. The proposed improvements aim to optimize the UI/UX design, ensuring the dashboard provides maximum user satisfaction and supports the sustainable and inclusive development of infrastructure and industrialization. This study offers valuable insights for the telecommunications company’s PO Unit in advancing their project management capabilities through innovative UI/UX solutions.
