In 2022, the World Federation of Neurology was granted consultative status with the United Nations (UN) and the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). This allowed the World Federation of Neurology to continue its mission of fostering quality neurology care worldwide, aligning this work with the UN ECOSOC sustainable development goals (SDGs) and the global health agenda set for 2030. The SDGs are amongst the most central UN agendas and indicate important needs and conditions for humans globally. In particular, this pertains to the SDG 3, to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, which reflects general public health needs that are highly relevant to neurology.
