The World Federation of Neurology (WFN) represents 126 professional neurology societies across all world regions. These regions are generally modeled on the WHO world regions and are represented by six large regional neurological organizations: the African Academy of Neurology, the American Academy of Neurology, the Asian and Oceanian Association of Neurology, the European Academy of Neurology, the Pan-American Federation of Neurological Societies, and the Pan Arab Union of Neurological Societies. This chapter provides an overview of these six major regional neurological organizations, briefly describing their historical development, current membership, and some of their WFN-related activities.
