This report focuses on identifying emerging technologies based on the economic importance of intellectual property, expanding its scope beyond papers and patents to include standards and open source software (OSS). Text analysis and network clustering were used as methodologies to detect emerging technologies. It resulted in perovskite solar cells being identified from scientific papers as an emerging technology by both methodologies. The impact of security incidents and recent generative artificial intelligence was shown through text analysis with OSS data. Furthermore, this report provides technological precedents for how emerging technologies should be leveraged after they have been identified. In particular, it introduces recent cross-organizational efforts, such as open alliance strategies and closed alliance strategies, to help AI-related technologies capture the market. This report will contribute to understanding the methodologies for identifying emerging technologies and the latest strategies for using the outputs of the analyses.
