Global natural disasters are occurring increasingly, leading to substantial loss of lives and severe economic repercussions. Developing robust early warning systems that empower individuals by providing timely information, coupled with effective urban design that adapts to the evolving needs of citizens, is crucial for strengthening social resilience and sustainable growth. This study critically examines the influence of early warning systems and architectural design variables on social resilience, leveraging expert perspectives from Greece. A hybrid focus group discussion was conducted, combining in-person and virtual participation to gather diverse insights through the involvement of ten (n = 10) distinguished experts in relevant fields. The study’s findings unequivocally support the positive relationship between the three variables. The implementation of more holistic and proactive approaches, characterised by collaboration among all stakeholders, is imperative for improving crisis management. While this study focuses explicitly on Greek participants, it acknowledges that this may introduce some bias in perceptions, which may limit the broader applicability of the conclusions drawn. However, the insights gained are valuable for driving a more resilient future forward.

摘要
