Assessment of the Functions for Converting Wave to Energy Using Spherical Fuzzy Multi-criteria Group Decision-Making Technique
摘要
The deep blue oceans conceal a potential energy source in the form of ocean waves, which could serve as a reliable source of renewable energyRenewable energy. As ocean waves are consistent, they store more energy per unit area than wind energy. The technologies which convert the kinetic energy of ocean surges into usable electricity are called wave energy convertersWave Energy Converter (WEC) (WECsWave Energy Converter (WEC)). All the worldwide emerging technologies for wave energyWave energy conversion follow some basic functional ethics. Based on them, seven WECWave Energy Converter (WEC) systems (WECSs) have been considered, varying ten influential factors to find the best WECSWave Energy Converter (WEC) through a case study in the Indian marine environment. The problem has been modeled as a multi-criteria group decision-making (MCGDM) framework under spherical fuzzy environment (SFE). A novel spherical fuzzy correlation coefficientFuzzy correlation coefficient (SFCC)-based ranking methodCorrelation coefficient-based ranking method has been developed with the aid of a novel score functionScore function (NSFSF). The supremacy of the proposed NSFSF and novel SFCC has been established through comparative studies with subsisting ones. To verify the reliability of the result and validate the integrated framework in real-life scenarios, they have been compared with other multi-criteria decision-makingMulti-criteria decision-making (MCDM) methods, followed by sensitivity analyses. Oscillating water column (OWCOscillating Water Column (OWC)) has been identified as the most suitable WECSWave Energy Converter (WEC).
