As organizations undergo digital transformation, the document management system (DMS) emerges as an effective solution for streamlining processes and enhancing agility and efficiency, while also reducing paper consumption. However, many organizations face significant challenges in the implementation and proper utilization of these systems. To better understand the factors influencing technology adoption, several theories and models have been proposed. This includes the unified theory of the acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), which has been widely applied both alone and in combination with other theories. This article presents a narrative literature review examining how UTAUT constructs affect the acceptance and use of the DMS within organizations. The findings reveal that UTAUT constructs positively influence both the intention to adopt and the actual use of DMSs, and that the intention to adopt these systems has an impact on their actual use. It underscores their roles in driving successful digital transformation in both the public and private sectors.
