This chapter reviews the relevant state-of-the-art studies and contributions focusing on the following three topics relevant to possibilistic information fusion systems: (1) orchestration of fusion systems and design of fusion topologies, (2) quantification of redundancy among information sources, and (3) the fusion of information within the framework of possibility theory. The insights gained from these reviews form the foundation for identifying the main objectives and research goals of this book.
