Over the past few years, the prevalence of mental health challenges has, especially following the COVID-19 pandemic. Traditional therapy faced challenges such as stigma, limited access, and insufficient means. This study explores the use of AI-driven chatbots, using Natural Language Processing (NLP) and user behaviour analytics to deliver personalized mental support and utilizes a mixed method approach, embedding a survey of approx.1,000 participants to investigate the role of AI towards trauma community and literature review. The survey examined public perceptions of AI, evaluating their acceptance and misconceptions. The findings reveal AI’s accessibility while emphasizing the importance of ethical considerations, showed that nearly 50% of participants expressed openness to using AI tools for managing anxiety/depression. The chi-square test uncovered a significant insight: the stereotype that mental health predominantly affects women was debunked. Respondents expressed openness regarding chatbot’s effectiveness, reflecting growing confidence in AI. AI merged with traditional therapy could be first step towards creating a more inclusive, effective, and stigma-free mental health care system in the future.

摘要
