Clinical Score to Quantify the Priority of Hospitalisation for Post-operative Patients
摘要
Available beds in hospitals are often limited, especially when considering specific care units, such as intensive care. This requires health professionals to undertake difficult choices on which patients to allocate to the available spots. This study studies and proposes a comprehensive clinical score for quantifying postoperative patient hospitalization priority. Existing scores often focus on specific parameters, lacking a holistic view of the patient’s overall condition. Through literature review and analysis of current scores, we identified key variables to create an integrated score. The proposed score addresses multiple health dimensions, improving decision-making for hospitalization. Despite time constraints impacting variable weight and selection, this tool promises to enhance hospital management and patient care by facilitating and supporting health professionals decisions on patients’ level of post-operative care.
