Sustainable Buildings’ Energy Supply: An Overview of Clean Production in the Gargano Area
摘要
The shift towards renewable energy is essential for reducing dependence on fossil fuels and achieving energy sustainability This paper explores the existing landscape of clean energy production facilities in the Gargano Area and evaluates their potential to meet residential energy demands. By conducting a detailed assessment of solar, wind, and biomass energy plants, the study evaluates their current performance, identifies opportunities for enhancement, and highlights the region’s potential. The findings emphasize the crucial role of leveraging local clean energy resources to meet the increasing energy demands of buildings’ systems. Biomass emerges as the dominant RES contributor, covering over two-thirds of the estimated potential. Despite regulatory and environmental limitations, the study highlights significant opportunities for RES expansion and the establishment of Energy Communities in the region, promoting a more resilient and sustainable energy landscape.
