The promotion of smart-ready systems and digital solutions within the built environment is increasingly recognized as a critical pathway toward enhancing comfort, energy efficiency, and grid integration in the building stock. The Directive EU/2024/1275 (EPBD recast) enhances the Smart Readiness Indicator (SRI) as a standardized European framework for evaluating the smart readiness of buildings. The SRI rating is based on assessing the smart-ready services currently available or planned within a building or building unit, alongside their respective functionality levels. Additionally, the EPBD recast establishes mandatory requirements for Building Automation and Control Systems (BACS) and e-mobility infrastructure, with compliance to be verified through inspections. As a result, the potential benefits of aligning technical building inspections with SRI assessments, and vice versa, have been acknowledged. However, there is currently a lack of comprehensive analysis regarding the overlap between the data required for SRI certification and that obtained through technical building system inspections. This paper presents a systematic comparative analysis of the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) standards related to the inspection of technical building systems and the SRI assessment as defined by the European Commission, with the aim of identifying commonalities in the required information. This analysis seeks to address the limited research in this area and support the national implementation of the smart-ready provisions outlined in the EPBD recast.

摘要
