Research on the impact of entrepreneurial orientation over artificial intelligence based on big data adoption has been scarce in literature, especially with the context of developing countries like Pakistan. To close this gap, we construct and test a model that explains the impact of entrepreneurial orientation on the performance of small and medium enterprises and added the mediating role of adoption of big data analytics powered by artificial intelligence, while considering the moderating influence of technological turbulence by drawing on the dynamic capacities’ view and contingency theory. We employed a pre-tested questionnaire to collect 374 responses from Pakistani small and medium enterprises in the manufacturing sector. Our analysis's showed that to attain better performance, small and medium enterprises must use entrepreneurial orientation to for adopting big data analytics powered by artificial intelligence's capabilities. Furthermore, technological turbulence considerably moderates, and big data analytics powered by artificial intelligence mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and the Performance of small and medium enterprises. These findings expand on the dynamic capability perspective and contingency theory to improve knowledge of the dynamic capabilities of the small and medium enterprises.

摘要
