Although pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy are related, the degree of segregation of both sections varies between countries. The modern pharmacy practice has transformed the pharmacist’s role to focus more on patient-oriented services. Because of the successful introduction of clinical pharmacy concepts and services in the United States and Europe, the whole world transformed pharmaceutical services implementing clinical pharmacy and also focusing more on pharmaceutical care. The main reasons for the differences in developing countries are differences in need, professional standards, and pharmacy practice. Both clinical pharmacy and pharmaceutical care are closely related concepts, although there are differences among professional teams in each one. Commonly, the principal difference between pharmaceutical care and clinical pharmacy is that pharmaceutical care is provided in the oncology pharmacy, and clinical pharmacy is a specialized and segregated service (Ahmed SI, Hasan SS. Am J Pharm Educ 74(10):193g, 2010).
