Research of the Problem Concerning Preserving Psychological Health of Students During the War

The article presents the results of a study of the mental health of students during the war. The legislation on the preservation of mental health of schoolchildren, basic foreign and domestic scientific approaches and theories in the study of psychological health of students are analysed. The state of studying psychological health in the modern conditions of students’ life is considered. It has been established that modern approaches to understanding psychological health are defined by terminological differences. However, the main factors influencing the mental health of students are the natural and social environment. The social environment is defined by such institutions as the family; institutions of general secondary education, ZVO. The natural environment is conditioned by ecological factors: ecology of the settlement, ecology of relations and ecology of feelings. The criteria for the psychological health of students in the conditions of war have been substantiated and analysed. It has been established that there are different criteria for the psychological health of a student, and the criteria for the mental health of students in war conditions are not clearly defined. The author believes that the following criteria for the psychological health of an individual are present: interest in oneself and others, the possibility of a high level of self-control, emotional stability, flexibility of thinking, having plans for the future and responsibility. Higher education institutions are designed to regulate and solve numerous social-personal and other problems of the student. For this purpose, trainings, psychological consultations for persons who are in SZHO, art therapy, training in new ways of behaviour in conditions of war will be productive. Peculiarities of the student age require an individual approach to each individual and the creation of conditions in the educational environment to preserve the mental health of the subjects of the educational process: rest areas, health moments during lectures and psychological support.
