At the Border of School and Community: The Challenges of Contextualized Education for Rural Youth
摘要
This chapter is focused on analyzing the educational processes of youth from rural backgrounds in Brazil, through the Escolas Família Agrícola (EFA) or Family Farm Schools (FFS). These institutions are deeply intertwined with social movements that resist the dominance of large landowners and advocate for land rights. They provide both foundational and technical training tailored to agricultural contexts, employing specialized pedagogical methods that align educational practices with the distinct characteristics of students’ families and communities.
