Curating “Entangled Islands: Ireland and the Caribbean” at EPIC the Irish Emigration Museum
摘要
This chapter reflects on the curation of “Entangled Islands: Ireland and the Caribbean”, a travelling exhibition developed by EPIC The Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin. It discusses selected case studies used to highlight Irish involvement in enslavement and colonial governance, challenging still prevalent nations of the Irish as solely victims of empire. The chapter also explores the sensitivities involved in presenting difficult histories to contemporary audiences and outlines how the project benefitted from collaboration with heritage and community partners.
