As the focus of development gradually shifts towards rural areas, the tourism industry in rural areas made significant progress in both quality and scale, which in turn promotes rural area`s economy and optimizes rural residents ` living environment and ecological environment. However, with the prosperity of rural tourism and rural economy, the rural ecological environment is also under certain pressure. Finding a balance between rural economic development, rural tourism promotes, and environmental quality optimization is the key to achieving amicable rural development state. This article uses coupling coordination degree to select five cities in Hubei Province to analyze their coordinated development from 2015 to 2022, which will provide data reference for clarifying coordinated development strategies in the later stage. The research results show that these five cities in Hubei Province are all in a stable and rising stage, but the rising stage is relatively slow, and there are even cases of decline. This highlights the need to focus on the ecological environment in the process of advancing rural economic development, with an emphasis on the harmonious coexistence among rural tourism, the rural economy, and the rural ecological environment.
