Earthquake Simulation System Using Extended Reality Technology
摘要
This paper proposes a realistic earthquake simulation system that employs mixed reality and virtual reality technologies to simulate an earthquake occurring in the user’s personal living environment. To simulate an earthquake occurring in the user’s personal living space, the proposed system scans the real-world environment to recognize the size of the room and furniture arrangement. Then, virtual objects are overlaid onto the real space. This eliminates the need to prepare a virtual space in advance, thereby enabling an effective earthquake simulation in the user’s personal living environments. The proposed system is expected to improve the effective disaster prevention awareness of residents in Japan, where natural disasters frequently occur every year.
