IoT-Based Control Systems with Siemens LOGO! and PC Interface
摘要
The Internet of Things has established itself as a fundamental axis in the evolution of automationAutomation and controlControl, by allowing the interconnection of smart devices that facilitate the monitoringMonitoring and remote management of processes, IoT-based control systems represent a strategic alternative for residential environments and small industrial facilities. Where efficiency and flexibility are a priority, but physical and economic resources are often limited, it is necessary to implement accessible and scalable solutions that integrate automationAutomation technologies with simulation and remote-control platforms, in order to bring Industry 4.0 closer to educational and low-budget scenarios. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IoT-based control system using the LOGO! Soft Comfort V8.3, the programmable controller LOGO! and the Factory IO simulator. The proposal incorporates a human–machine interface (HMI) through the LOGO! TD for local interaction, and an IoT link that enables real-time remote monitoringMonitoring and operation from anywhere with network access. The results obtained show that the integration of these technologies not only facilitates the monitoringMonitoring and operation of processes under different simulated conditions, but also contributes to preventive maintenance, cost reduction, and practical training in academic environments. This study demonstrates the potential of using simple and accessible IoT solutions to foster technological innovation, improve real-time processes, and strengthen the link between technical education and Industry 4.0.
