Geometric Modeling and Visual Aesthetics in Urban Environments
摘要
The article describes a method for creating a geometric model of a contemporary building with a distinctive architectural design (the Zhivago restaurant in Perm, Russia). Using real-scale graphs of linear functions generated in MS Office Excel, the shapes of roof slopes and exterior façade elements were determined. The study demonstrates how the selection of straight lines serves as a form-generating tool in the architectural composition of the structure. The research incorporates interdisciplinary data (geography, literature, history) to contextualize the project’s conceptual framework within its physical implementation. Visualizing mathematical objects through urban aesthetics allows the author’s creative vision to be substantiated via geometric methods and computational solutions, while simultaneously validating calculations against the built object. The paper provides examples of other buildings in Perm whose structures can be graphically represented using analytical geometry techniques. Such architectural cases serve as practical models for studying the properties of parabolas, exponential functions, sinusoids, and other mathematical concepts.
