The Ecology of Syrian Refugee Children’s Rights to Education in Lebanon
摘要
One of the most pressing sociopolitical concerns hindering children’s rights to education in the twenty-first century is the global refugee crisis, whereby millions of people have been forcibly displaced from their homes due to environmental disasters or war. Given the magnitude of the problem it encompasses, a subset of issues exists wherein refugees cannot access education or jobs that allow them to become resilient and self-reliant. Learning basic literacy and numeracy through educational programs is instrumental to ensuring equitable participation in social and economic life for forcibly displaced people. The findings from this flash field study revealed knowledge that is uncommonly published in the current literature. The engagement of Syrians in Lebanon as researchers in this project is a critical approach to sustainable development in Lebanon and Syria and important for ongoing research work.
