Electronic Government (EG) represents an evolution in government management by merging information and communication technologies (ICTs) with administrative modalities, to improve efficiency, transparency, and citizen participation in government services. In Ecuador, the enactment of laws and policies, such as the Law of the Ministry of Telecommunications and the Organic Law for Digital and Audiovisual Transformation, reinforce this approach. The article focuses on the axes established by the Organic Law for Digital and Audiovisual Transformation, addressing aspects such as digital infrastructure, digital inclusion, digital economy, emerging technologies, digital government, data interoperability, and digital security. The analysis considers existing regulations, such as the Organic Law on Public Companies and the Law on the National System of Public Data Registry, which establish specific requirements for the disclosure of financial information, public procurement, and coordination of public databases. The effective implementation of IT governance policies is crucial to comply with current regulations and improve the quality of government services in Ecuador. Alignment with national and international laws and guidelines is fundamental to ensure efficient, transparent, and participatory management in the public sphere.
