Special Education and Re-Traumatization
摘要
This chapter explores the connection between trauma and disability, showing how trauma can mimic, mask, or exacerbate special education needs. It critiques harmful interventions such as restraint and seclusion, which often retraumatizes students. Instead, it calls for the development of trauma-informed Individualized Education Programs and accommodations that prioritize safety, dignity, and healing alongside academic growth.
