Do speech characteristics have anything to do with age? And how? Speech signal has a variety of characteristics. Its characteristics are represented by the spectrum and the f0 trajectory. With these two, it is possible to reproduce the characteristics of speech that are almost recognized by humans. The frequency spectrum includes formant structures, which are mainly brought about by the vibrational pattern of the vocal cords and changes in the shape of the vocal tract. The F0 trajectory is a change in the frequency of the vocal cords, which usually represents a characteristic called vocal inflection. This report aimed to investigate possibility to estimate age from F0 contour.
