Private Parking to Enhance Last-Mile Delivery with Hubs and Parcel Lockers in Seville
摘要
This study explores the potential of utilizing private parking facilities in Seville as logistics hubs and parcel lockers to optimize last mile distribution. Through a detailed analysis of accessibility and current use of these spaces, the accessible road network has been identified within a walking distance of 5 or 10 min, equivalent to less than 3.3 min by bicycle, with better coverage in areas of high population density. The implementation of hubs and lockers in these parking facilities could improve delivery efficiency, reduce urban congestion, and promote the use of sustainable vehicles. The results highlight the viability of transforming private parking facilities into strategic points for more efficient and sustainable urban logistics in the city of Seville.
