A MILP model is presented for a sequencing problem in assembly lines with product options with minimum workload. Three elements are added to the original model: the production in progress quota property (Heijunka), buffer suppression and variable workday length. The problem is solved with CPLEX solver on 6 Nissan-9Eng.I instances (engines). It is concluded that the elimination of buffers and the reduction in the length of the working day cause a very significant daily loss of engine production, the cost of which varies approximately between 8,400 and 52,000 euros per day, depending on the cycle time c of the assembly line.

摘要

A MILP model is presented for a sequencing problem in assembly lines with product options with minimum workload. Three elements are added to the original model: the production in progress quota property (Heijunka), buffer suppression and variable workday length. The problem is solved with CPLEX solver on 6 Nissan-9Eng.I instances (engines). It is concluded that the elimination of buffers and the reduction in the length of the working day cause a very significant daily loss of engine production, the cost of which varies approximately between 8,400 and 52,000 euros per day, depending on the cycle time c of the assembly line.
