Despite the growing body of literature on Lean Leadership, there is still no comprehensive understanding of how various leadership behaviors at different hierarchical levels interact with cultural factors to influence Lean success. To fill this gap, this review paper seeks to integrate the literature on Lean Leadership at different levels and in different cultural contexts, taking a holistic view of how Leadership behavior and cultural adaptation both play a crucial role in effective Lean Implementation. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted, increasing its specificity through PRISMA methodology. In result, 41 studies, in different cultural and sector contexts, were analyzed. In result, this paper provides the Multilevel Lean Leadership and Culture-Adapted Implementation (MLL-CI) Framework, indispensable for researchers studying Lean Leadership behaviors and for firms seeking effective Lean Transformations.
