Enhancing Lead-Acid Battery Productivity: A Comparative Study of Three Methods
摘要
This work presents a comparative analysis of the energy consumption and productivity of three lead-acid battery formation technologies: tube, modular, and rack. The formation process, which is both energy- and quality-critical, is analyzed using empirical production data. The study outlines significant differences in electricity usage and formation efficiency among the technologies and describes targeted improvement actions developed within the Standard Formation department. The findings illustrate the practical application of Lean Manufacturing principles in optimizing complex industrial processes, with a focus on energy efficiency and process standardization. The proposed approach supports sustainable development by contributing to cost reduction and minimizing environmental impact.
