摘要

This concluding chapter again highlights the primary findings from our empirical research and puts them in a broader context. Against the background that many Czech people, including politicians and academics, see no need for critical engagement with racerace or any sort of decolonial thinking, this book has aimed to be a step in this direction. By employing race as our primary analytical category, we hope to have opened a path for critical engagement with the coloniality of the country and deep-seated racial prejudices. We argue that the concept of restricted affiliationrestricted affiliation is useful for understanding that many African and AfroczechAfroczech people who reside in the country only have a restricted sense of belonging to Czechia which emerges due to the high costs they experience on the basis of permanently being Othered. Concluding this work, we also show that a global BlacknessBlackness perspective on patterns of human movement helps in understanding networks of solidarity and community building among African-descendant people in Czechia.
