Dangerous Pushbacks, Emerging Challenges and New Strategies to Cope with Them
摘要
This chapter opens with the presentation and detailed illustration of the Feminist Declaration drafted on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Fourth Women’s World Conference in Beijing. The Declaration constitutes the starting point to represent all the emerging challenges and unresolved issues that remain on the policymakers’ agenda, requiring renewed and even more determined commitment from both national governments and international organisations responsible for the concrete implementation of women’s rights in all their diversities. Once the areas in which dangerous regressions and setbacks have occurred are clarified, the discussion turns to the new tools and methods available for developing strategies to address these significant contemporary challenges. The final three paragraphs are devoted to exploring the application of intersectionality in a world marked by polycrises, the adoption of a data feminism approach, and the use of language that respects gender differences and diversities while remaining free from stereotypical representations.
