Conclusion and Outlook
摘要
Operating a structural health monitoring (SHM) system within fiber metal laminates (FMLs) presents distinct challenges unique to this type of material. Combining fiber-reinforced polymers (FRPs) with metals in FMLs induces significant residual stresses after manufacturing. Specifically, in unidirectionally oriented FMLs, the residual stress state is complex, characterized by tensile stresses in the metal layers and compressive stresses in the fiber layers.
