The article proposes a critical analysis of the imaginal capacity of images in the era of artificial creation, with special emphasis on the Chilean context. From the emergence of images generated by artificial intelligence, every time being more difficult to distinguish from those produced by human-machine assemblies, a question is raised about the effects of this new visual ecology in the construction of meanings, memories and possible futures. A theoretical framework is articulated that interweaves perspectives from authors such as Donna Haraway, Georges Didi-Huberman, Rossi Braidotti and Bruno Latour, to think about the role of images in times of multiple crises. As a case of analysis, the visual creations of Negro Matapacos generated by different Artificial Intelligences are analyzed, exploring how these images stress notions of agency, political imagination and construction of the social in an environment where humans and non-humans co-constitute meanings. The article seeks to open a space of problematization about the ethical and symbolic implications of the imaginal power of artificial images in Latin America.

摘要
