The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in education has gained increasing attention, particularly in curriculum development and instructional design. This study explores how AI-assisted course design can support faculty members in developing online courses while maintaining academic rigor and pedagogical integrity. Using a case study approach within a nursing education context, this research highlights the opportunities and challenges of AI-generated course materials. The findings reveal that AI can streamline course development by generating syllabi, modules, discussion prompts, and assessments. However, faculty oversight remains crucial in refining content, addressing redundancies, and ensuring alignment with learning objectives. The study underscores the need for AI literacy among educators, institutional policies for AI integration, and ongoing research to optimize AI’s role in education. This paper contributes to the broader discourse on AI in higher education, advocating for a balanced approach that leverages AI’s capabilities while preserving human expertise in pedagogy.

摘要
