Collaborative Learning for the Sustainable Development Goals: Innovations from the Aga Khan Foundation’s Learning Hub
摘要
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) call for transformative learning approaches that are inclusive, scalable, and locally relevant. Traditional models of capacity building, education, and professional development often fail to reach underserved communities or facilitate cross-sector collaboration. This paper explores The Learning Hub, an initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), as an innovative model for collaborative learning that advances the SDGs. The Learning Hub provides practical, free, localized learning resources in a range of formats in 25+ languages, supporting underserved communities and practitioners in education, civil society, climate resilience, agriculture, health, and economic development. Through co-created content, blended learning approaches, and low-cost video production models, The Learning Hub demonstrates how learning can be accessible, participatory and impactful, even in the most remote and underserved settings. This paper examines how The Learning Hub’s approach aligns with SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). By fostering collaborative learning design and actively removing barriers to access, The Learning Hub serves as a model for scalable, inclusive lifelong learning and education. The findings suggest that collaborative, multilingual, and freely accessible learning platforms can significantly enhance capacity-building efforts in the global development sector.
