This chapter introduces the concept of water supplies use of elevated storage. The approach to understanding a purely statics source (i.e., tank) can be graphically illustrated through simple calculations since the difference between static and residual pressures is a result of friction loss. How to graphically represent a combined supply of a municipal system and a tank is also introduced. A conservative method of approximation is using the bottom of the tank as the elevation reference point.

摘要

This chapter introduces the concept of water supplies use of elevated storage. The approach to understanding a purely statics source (i.e., tank) can be graphically illustrated through simple calculations since the difference between static and residual pressures is a result of friction loss. How to graphically represent a combined supply of a municipal system and a tank is also introduced. A conservative method of approximation is using the bottom of the tank as the elevation reference point.
