MultipolarityMultipolarity is becoming one of the most discussed topics in academic circles since a multipolar world structure, which values a plurality of interests and respects civilizational diversity, is viewed as a potential foundation for lasting structural stability. ChinaChina advocates for this multipolar framework, and the Belt and RoadBelt and Road Initiative (BRI)Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), introduced by President Xi JinpingXi Jinping in 2013, represents one of the institutional embodiments of this vision. This article explores how multipolarityMultipolarity is reflected within the BRI, with a specific focus on Xi Jinping's speech, “Promote People-to-People Friendship and Create a Better Future”, delivered in Astana. The focus is on both the key and specific principles of multipolarity that determine the philosophy and implementation of this initiative. The authors conclude that China, through the BRI, strives to promote a multipolar world orderWorld order based on respect for cultural diversity, fair distribution of benefits from globalizationGlobalization, and equal cooperationCooperation of all participants.
