The article is devoted to the geographical and geopolitical views of the founder of the Eurasian movement, Peter N. Savitsky. His little-known book Geographical Features of RussiaRussia, Volume 1. Vegetation and Soils (Prague: Eurasian Publishing House, 1927), has been out of print for 100 years. This late monograph by Savitsky marks the beginning of a new period of his work where he introduces a number of concepts not previously found in his writings, including the concepts of topogenesisTopogenesis (mestorazvitie)Mestorazvitie, synchorology, symmetry, and a number of others. With the help of these concepts, Savitsky forms a unique Russian version of geopoliticsGeopolitics and substantiates his claim that Russia is a special world, different from both the EastEast and the WestWest. Savitsky offers several remarkable themes, notably that in Russia, there are not just alternate sociological laws, but the geography of its spaceSpace presupposes a different time frame altogether. The geography of Russia itself proposes new terms for its geographical and geopolitical zoning. Its geography and location of Russia are the drivers of its historyHistory. They set a different rhythm to Russian history, climateClimate, and flow of time.
