This paper presents the development of US trade relationsTrade relations with PCR from 2001 to 2020 and attempts to show the reshape of the bilateral development of the countries on which the world economy depends. The relevance of the topic is precisely due to the influence of the two powers not only on the world economy, but also on the system of international relationsInternational relations in general. The work initially investigates the specifics of US–PCR tradeTrade relations under Presidents Bush, Obama, and Trump. It noted that during the terms of President Bush, the PCR was “introduced” into the US economy. Besides, the Bush administration focused on both economic and strategic interaction with ChinaChina, and the Obama administration maintained trade and economic cooperationCooperation with the China, but made some strategic adjustments. The paper is strongly focused on changes in the development of trade and economic relationsEconomic relations under President Trump, whose administration has taken strategic actions in the competition with the PRC. Moreover, this paper describes the escalations and consequences whose impact intensified throughout 2001–2020, including leading up to the 2018 trade warTrade war. In the research can be seen the vicissitude of US relations with the PRC in the twenty-first century, since with the running for office of the new presidents of the United StatesState of AmericaUnited States of America, relations between countries are becoming more and more tense, given the propensity of the United States to remain a leader in the economy. In conclusion, the trade, economic, and political situation between the United States and China is increasingly heating up. The paper says that the difficulty of forecasting in the development of trade relationsTrade relations between the United States and ChinaChina are two major powers, given the current world situation. Of course, there are various options for the development of events, but it is too early to assume anything because the situation on the world stage is changing at a very high speed.
