This study focuses on the infrastructural development aspect among Indian states. The aim of the research is to gauge the infrastructural progress during the last two decades. The investigation shows that despite substantial government efforts to support balanced regional development, there still remain disparities. By evaluating the infrastructure status of the states using a weighted index, the research uncovers notable differences among the states in the northeast, western and southern India. The results reveal that even when certain regions show improvement since 2014, there are still significant disparities. The position of states in the quartile continuum does not show a huge change during the study period. The continuing inequality in infrastructure development is highlighted by the Gini coefficient. The necessity for focused initiatives is shown by statistical tests that validate notable regional variations in infrastructural development. It is imperative that the Indian government promote economic stability and equity for sustainable development.
